We specialize in truck transport within combined transport operations. The long-distance leg is handled in an environmentally friendly way by rail or inland waterway vessel, while we reliably manage the pre-carriage and on-carriage by truck.
We organize national and international import and export transports in combined freight transport via rail terminals and inland ports across Germany and Europe.
By combining high-performance main hauls by rail or inland shipping with flexible truck services on the first and last mile, we create an efficient and sustainable transport solution.
Our focus lies exclusively on this sustainable and cost-efficient transport concept — not on traditional long-haul road transport. This allows us to bundle expertise, operational efficiency and experience within the combined transport system and create measurable added value for our customers.
Within combined transport, we handle pre-carriage and on-carriage for import and export shipments by truck.
We organize collection at the shipper’s premises, transport to the rail terminal or inland port, as well as delivery of import containers to the consignee — reliable, punctual and efficient.
This results in a seamless transport chain between road, rail and waterway.
Our import and export transports within combined transport offer measurable benefits for your business:
By combining truck, rail and inland shipping, we create stable and predictable transport solutions for national and international import and export traffic.
Fixed main haul schedules by rail or waterway combined with flexible truck deployment ensure:

The Trucking Fuel Surcharge is the basis of the diesel price development, which is calculated and determined by the Minerölwirtschaftsverband (Mineral Oil Industry Association) and the official consumption data of the truck Industry.
Effective June 1, 2026, Optimodal Nederland B.V. will transition from a quarterly to a monthly model for the diesel surcharge.
Monthly surcharges are determined based on the average price of a defined reference month (month A), which is applied with a time lag to the corresponding surcharge month (month C).
Example: For June 2026, the average value of April will be used as the calculation basis.
