The Optimodal team cooperates closely with leading and established operators and terminals in order to achieve the highest possible quality, flexibility and reliability. Therefore we use the following modes of transport: rail, inland waterway and truck.
Together with our partner, the LTE Group, we ensure a high-frequency rail connection between Rotterdam and Neuss.
The close cooperation with various barge operators forms an additional pillar to our reliable rail product Rotterdam-Neuss.
Depot services and container repairs complete our comprehensive portfolio at the Neuss location.
Our Europe-wide transport services are complemented by the fact that we act as an agent for rail operators. Together with our agency partner Kombiverkehr Intermodal Services GmbH, Duisburg, we ensure 24/7/360 monitoring of the trains in order to proactively prevent delays.
Trains run daily on the Rotterdam-Neuss route, connecting every terminal at Maasvlakte 1 + 2 with Neuss. Starting in Neuss, there is the possibility to connect other European industrial locations by gateway traffic with the western ports. In close cooperation with various barge operators, we complete our high-quality rail product between Neuss and Rotterdam.
We also offer regular inland waterway connections between Antwerp and Neuss. Optimodal also has the competence to connect a huge number of production and trade centres in Europe with the western ports and Hamburg too. We are pleased to be able to cooperate with reliable and established partners in this range as well.

It is scientifically proven that global warming is also due to the increasing CO² emissions. Together with our customers, we ensure that longer distances are covered by the environmentally friendly modes of transport train and barge – if possible, only the short distances by truck.

The freight forwarding company Optimodal Nederland B.V. relies on the TEU standard (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) for 20-foot containers, enabling seamless integration into global logistics chains.
Thanks to this standardization, TEU containers can be flexibly transferred between different modes of transport.
For larger cargo volumes, the 40-foot container (equivalent to 2 TEU) is also available, further enhancing efficiency and sustainability in the transport process.
