Due to the exceptionally low and further declining water levels on the Rhine, Optimodal Nederland B.V. is temporarily suspending barge connections to and from Rotterdam and Antwerp. Barge transport will therefore be unavailable until further notice.
We are continuously monitoring water levels on the Rhine and assessing when barge services can safely resume. Based on the current situation, we do not expect conditions to improve in the short term.
Rail alternative: Our “Quirinus Express”, operating between Neuss and Rotterdam in both directions, remains available and provides a reliable alternative for your transport requirements.
Our Customer Service teams in Rotterdam and Neuss are informing customers about affected bookings and are available to assist with questions regarding existing bookings and alternative transport options.
Optimodal Nederland B.V. will continue to keep you informed about Rhine water levels and the resumption of barge connections to Rotterdam and Antwerp.
